With 2015 coming to a close, and the New Year approaching quickly, now is the perfect time to reflect on this year's biggest events! With many remarkable occasions, 2015 was surely a year to remember. Let's take a trip down memory lane. In no particular order, we present: our 2015 Pop Culture Year in Review!
The Rise of Queen Amy Schumer
2015 was an impressive year for Schumer. From the release of her blockbuster movie Trainwreck, to obviously her biggest break yet when she was featured in our article "Going Home for Winter Break as told by Amy Schumer," 2015 undeniably made us all a little obsessed with her.
Black and Blue or White and Gold....?
THE DRESS. One of the (strangest) moments in pop culture this year, this confusing dress took the internet by storm, causing what was probably the biggest divide since Team Edward or Team Jacob.
Quite triumphantly, one might add. Selling over 3 million copies in a week, Adele's hit album 25 reminded us all how much we love her. Truly nobody compares!
Track superstar and Kardashian-Jenner father figure Bruce Jenner took the world by storm with his transition to Caitlyn. Although a hotly-debated issue for many, Jenner's (highly-publicized) transition did bring light to the important conversation of transgender awareness and rights.
Shia LaBeouf Watches All of His Movies (While We Watch His Reactions)
Still totally confused by this one. But it was pretty great.
The Force Awakens
Star Wars is back! After almost a ten-year hiatus, the cult movie series returned triumphantly in mid-December, 'awakening' Star Wars fans everywhere.
The Pope Visits New York City
Making public appearances, the papal visit to the United States left many, regardless of faith, remembering the importance of unity. Also, quite possibly the best encounter of 2015: Pope Francis meets Baby Pope.
And without further ado...
Things to Leave in 2015
Man buns, minions, Netflix-and-Chill. To name a few.
Seriously, who thought this was a good idea.
That wraps up our 2015 Pop Culture Year in Review! We can't wait to see what's in store for the New Year. Peace out, 2015!
Happy New Year from GreekU!
