The Happiness Project

There are so many amazing books out there, but especially ones that college-age people can relate to.  We know you probably have a lot of school work to do, but making some time to read a new book should be on your priority list as well.

We are starting a list of books you should read when you are in college.  These are books we’ve read and loved, and we feel the need to share them with you! Enjoy 🙂

Girl Boss

Sophia Amoruso is a goddess.  She is CEO and founder of Nasty Gal (I know, I love their clothes too), and all-around badass.  It’s somewhat of a rags-to-riches story that will make you laugh out loud.  Definitely add this one to your reading list.

Yes Please

I’m sure most of you can imagine this is a funny book.  But it will also give you advice you didn’t know you needed, like this:

Getting older gives you superpowers.

Poehler delivers a memoir to her readers as well as life advice.

The Alchemist

My mom told me to read this.  I thought, ‘it looks really boring’.  This was the ultimate lesson to not judge a book by its cover, because this book changes the way you look at the world.  What I learned was that something as simple as changing your outlook can change your life.

This is another one of those laugh-out-loud books.  I could imagine Tina Fey reading it out loud to me; she has a very dry, distinct sense of humor.  Along with making fun of herself, Fey offers some life advice as well.  It’s a must-read.

Do your thing and don’t care if they like it.

The Outliers

This book consists of multiple stories of the best and brightest people, and how they achieved success.  Outliers, defined by Malcolm Gladwell, are people who are the most successful, famous, or the smartest.  Gladwell explores the combination of things that made the Outliers this way.  It is a very inspiring read!

We will be continuing this list for all of you book lovers! Happy reading!
