It is being described as " the best all-nighter you will pull at Cornell," by the executive director of the dance event. Called 'Big Red Thon', the marathon will give 500 Cornell students the chance to dance for 13 hours straight.
The event will happen this weekend, November 7th, from Saturday through Sunday. It benefits Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, the local branch of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals; their goal is to raise $50,000.
Cornell Phi Mu is sponsoring the event alongside the pre-medical fraternity Phi Delta Epsilon, according to The Cornell Daily Sun.
We think this event sounds great, especially since the sponsors are bringing in some of the children from the hospital and their families for the big day. According to the article, all of the donations are going toward expanding the pediatric emergency department!
Whenever the dancers want to take a break from bustin' a move, they can enjoy the bounce house or carnival. These will also be part of the whole event.
We want to go! This sounds like an amazing philanthropy with a great cause. Sign us up!
