Our Top 3 Essentials for A Successful Friendsgiving

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up--how is it already November? Suddenly, it's no longer syllabus week. You've survived (hopefully) a couple rounds of midterms, Halloweekend, and homecoming, to name a few paramount fall college events. Just when you think you're on schoolwork overload--a shining light appears over the horizon. [caption id="attachment_2448" align="alignnone" width="275"]shocked gif picture Source: Google Images[/caption]   Nope, not a bird. Not a plane either. Believe it or not, it's not even Superman. Alas, your savior is Thanksgiving Break, comin' in hot! Just in time to cure your fall semester blues, a couple days to give thanks are here to revive you, and give you the strength to push through the final stretch upon your return.   Arguably one of the best parts about Thanksgiving--apart from the heaps of delicious food you'll be sure to enjoy--is the opportunity to appreciate those who make your life so special. What better way to kick off your Thanksgiving celebration than by preparing the most festive event of them all--a "Friendsgiving!" Check out our top 5 must-haves for making your Friendsgiving one for the books!

1. The food, but of course!

No Friendsgiving would be complete without a table as full as your bellies will be! Whether you opt for the traditional turkey and sides--like mashed potatoes, green beans, and the Thanksgiving superstar that is pumpkin pie--or take a nontraditional approach of your own, it's always fun to get together and prepare your meal with your closest friends. Try your luck at making these Pinterest-inspired recipes. My mouth is watering already! 2. Prep Your Playlist

I'm a huge proponent of having a playlist for any occasion, and what better to set the mood of celebrating your friends than with a mixtape of everyone's favorite songs! The possibilities are truly endless, and could range anywhere from festive fall or holiday music, to top hits, to songs that take you back to your favorite memories with your friends. Jam on!

3. Give thanks, and really give thanks!

While the holiday season is an especially festive time, it can be easy to get caught up in the ideas of gifts, food, and all of the fun things that come along with celebrating. For your Friendsgiving to be the best yet, ensure that the focus of your festivities is to appreciate the unique and genuine roles that each of your friends play in your life. Whether you go around the table and share your appreciation aloud, or prefer to write your thanks to then be shared, find a tangible way to genuinely share what your friends mean to you as you enjoy your time together. Make your Friendsgiving unique, and tailor the occasion to celebrate what makes your friend group so special.   We wish you a very happy (early) Thanksgiving, from the team here at Greek U!
