How To Survive College Exams

    We know that finals and college exams in general can be a stressful time for everyone, so here are our tips for surviving and thriving during finals week!

    1. Don't Procrastinate

    Easier said than done, but we believe in you! Getting a head start on your work will help you stay on track with your studying, and will eliminate the need to cram the night before.

    2. Cut Out Distractions

    We all love our smartphones and social media, especially sharing our funny-finals-frustrations on Twitter. However, stay focused on your important studying by silencing your phone and any other distractions. A trick we like to use is putting the phone in the other room while we study.  Trust us, it will make a huge difference!!

    3. Stay Hydrated

    Drinking water will help calm your nerves and reduce your stress level, so drink up! It will also give you more energy.  Be sure to avoid sugary or highly-caffeinated beverages, as they can make you jittery and make you crash faster.

    4. Meet With Your Professor

    The secret to success in your classes: establish a relationship with your professor! Not only will speaking with them help you clarify the material, but having the teacher know your name or face surely helps your chances of doing well in the course.

    5. One Word: SLEEP

    One of the hardest tips to follow through with, getting your rest is essential! This tip goes hand-in-hand with avoiding procrastination. Your brain will not function properly or retain information if you've stayed up to study all night. Be sure to get a head start on your work to avoid pulling an all-nighter the night before a big test or presentation!

    6. Exercise Regularly

    Budget time in your finals schedule to get a quick workout in! Taking a break from staring at a computer screen or a textbook and hitting the gym is a great way to keep your body going through the stress of finals.

    7. Study With Friends

    Working with other students in your class is a great way to study! One of the best methods of studying material is to teach others, so get a group together and work through tough material together. Talking it out always helps us!
