The History of Alpha Pi Sigma

Alpha Pi Sigma is an organization developed for both undergraduate and graduate students in criminal justice fields, as well as those in pursuit of a Juris Doctor degree. Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the organization publishes a magazine called “Docket.”

While Alpha Pii Sigma operates differently than traditional fraternities and sororities, there are several requirements for becoming an Alpha Pi Sigma member. If you’re an undergraduate student who wants to enter the ranks, it’s required to have completed at least four criminal justice classes and have an overall GPA of at least a 3.4.

Beyond that, undergraduate students must be within the top 35% of their classes and be declared criminal justice majors to qualify. For graduate students, the requirements are a minimum 3.4% GPA, and completion of at least four criminal justice courses. Individual chapters have control over their own standards, and may increase or loosen them according to their own preferences.
