The History of Sigma Phi Lambda

Sigma Phi Lambda was established as part of a larger mission to grow the reach of Christian sororities. It was one of the primary sororities to popularize the idea of Christian Greek organizations, and has grown rapidly since its inception. Today, the sorority continues to expand its reach into new areas and to add new chapters.

The first line of its sorority verse goes as follows, “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and one mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
